1000 Books Before Kindergarten

FCPL invites families and caregivers to read 1,000 books with their children before they enter kindergarten. Reading aloud to children from birth helps foster strong language skills and build a growing vocabulary – two important tools for learning to read.

How to Participate:

  1. Register at https://fcpl.beanstack.org/. You can also register at any FCPL branch.
  2. Log the books you read with your child in Beanstack or on the Beanstack app or track your progress on a printed log. You’ll earn a sticker from your librarian for every 100 books you read. (Ask your librarian for more details.)
  3. When you’ve read 500 books, you’re halfway there! Visit the library for your milestone prize!
  4. When you’ve read 1000, congratulations! Visit the library for your finisher prize!
