This club for girls in grades 3-5 will explore books filled with adventure, wonder and heroes - all from FCPL's Summer Reading List for grades 3-5. June: Doll Bones by Holly Black and The Fourteenth Goldfish by Jennifer Holm; July: Waiting for the Magic by Patricia MacLachlan and Escape From Mr. Lemoncello's Library by Chris Grabenstein; and in August, Miss Deb will be hosting a SRC Bingo! based on the FCPL's SRC Reading List. Stop by the Middletown Library to pick up your copy of this month’s selection.

Battlefield Medicine: Trauma Care in the Civil War

Civil War soldiers suffered devastating casualties. Have you ever wondered who took care of them? This program explains and demonstrates medical practices of the time. Learn about Civil War ammunition and the types of wounds it cause. A costumed interpreter will also talk about casualties, how they were evacuated from their location and where they were treated. Also, learn about Dr. Jonathan Letterman and his revolutionary system of evacuation. Presented by the National Museum of Civil War Medicine, this is the final session in a three-part series.

Soolah Hoops

Come join Soolah as she shares the joys of hula hooping. Kids will be entertained with a demonstration of hula hooping tricks with different kinds of hula hoops. Soolah will share her hoops, teaching kids how to hoop, how to do some tricks and play some games! Hoops will be provided. Please be sure your child is in comfortable clothing and has a water bottle to stay hydrated. Best for ages K-8

Babies With Books: Birth to Twenty-Four Months
