The Thurmont Regional Library opened on August 2, 2008. The tower resembles nearby historic Catoctin Furnace's stack
Pick up books, DVDs, CDs, and magazines on hold at the drive through window or drop off returned items at the drive-up drop-off slots.
The 40-foot tall lobby is bright and open with plenty of information about the community and the library.

The library has two quiet study rooms for group study or a quiet place to sit and read. Reserve them at the Information Desk.
The Thurmont Center for Agricultural History holds non-circulating materials that reveal the rich, agricultural heritage of northern Frederick County.

Moravian Church windows are from our former location on Water Street in Thurmont. Built in 1874 as Moravian Church, the building housed a dairy, a store and eventually the library until 2008.
Curl up with a good book, one of our magazines or a newspaper in one of our comfortable reading areas.
The library offers free wireless internet access throughout the building. Our well-lit tables are a great place to sit down and surf the web or work on homework.
The library has a large collection of DVDs, CDs and audio-books for your viewing and listening pleasure.
Computers and printers are available at no charge whenever the library is open.
The Thurmont Lions Club donated this Accessible Technology Station for library users with visual impairments.
The Teen Zone offers a comfortable place for teens to sit and read or just hang out.
Teens have their own computers in the Teen Zone with internet access and word processing software.
In the Children's Department, the chapter books, magazines, and nonfiction sections are under a covered bridge that spans the length of the department.
Picture books of all shapes and sizes are waiting for little children to check them out and take them home!

The Community Room holds 100 people and may be reserved online by the public.
When the weather is warm, step out onto the library's deck for lunch, to meet with friends, or just enjoy the serene setting with a good book.
