Habla Espanol? A Special Storytime!

Take advantage of your child's natural language learning abilities: bring him or her to this special storytime in Spanish presented by Cynthia Fraga-Canadas from Mount St. Mary's University. Sing songs, listen to stories, and introduce your child to another language! Ages 2-5, with an adult.

Community Toy Swap

Are you ready for spring cleaning? Drop in during our community toy swap and freshen up your toys without spending a dime. Bring a new or gently used toy and swap it for another. Any leftover toy donations will be donated to Goodwill. Advance drop-offs are being accepted now!

Guidelines: Children must be accompanied by an adult. Games and puzzles must include all pieces. Please launder cloth items (i.e. stuffed animals, etc) before bringing in. Books and DVDs are accepted, too.

Pokemon Card Tournament!

The Poketown Gym invites Pokemon Trading Card Game players to take
part in the Mauville Gym League Challenge!

Players will play in an age-separated, Swiss-rounds tournament
(everyone plays the whole time!) using their own Standard Format
60-card decks. You should already know how to play using the official
rules. Don't know how to play? Visit our League Play meetings, (held
most Sundays from 1:45-4:45 PM in the Anthony M. Natelli Community
Room), and we can teach you!

The Reagan Years at Westview Promenade

FCPL teams up with Westview Promenade to celebrate our new Summer Reading program for all ages with a free concert by The Reagan Years. Bring your family and lawn chairs and enjoy this band of seasoned musicians as they recreate the sounds of the 1980’s – taking the audience back to when Ronald Reagan was president, MTV first aired, CD’s emerged, acid washed jeans were “cool,” and alternative music was called “New Wave.”

African-American Research and Preservation Symposium

In January, the Carrollton Manor Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution celebrated the publication of The Forgotten: The Middletown African Methodist Episcopal Cemetery. The result of 17 months of research, this volume provides source material on the individuals located in a largely undocumented burial ground. The Forgotten can be used for genealogy research, to track a community’s history, and to develop a deeper understanding of a segment of Frederick County’s African-American population.
