Soolah Hoops

Come join Soolah as she shares the joys of hula hooping. Kids will be entertained with a demonstration of hula hooping tricks with different kinds of hula hoops. Soolah will share her hoops, teaching kids how to hoop, how to do some tricks and play some games! Hoops will be provided. Please be sure your child is in comfortable clothing and has a water bottle to stay hydrated. Best for ages K-8

Take the LEGO® Robotic Challenge

Age Group: 
LEGO® NXT robots feature a friendly code that tweens can understand. Join members of the RoboRangers 4-H Club as they work in small groups with participants to program a robot to run a specific mission. This STEM program is for children going into 4th and 5th grades. Registration required.

Right On Recycling!

Right On Recycling! – This family program is full of fascinating facts about the complete cycle of recycling. Learn what happens after your materials are picked up at the curb, see what they get made into and find out why everything can’t be recycled. Bring items from home to have your recycling questions answered by Annmarie Creamer from the Frederick County Department of Solid Waste Management. (Registration required.)

Story-Art

Join Dancing Bear Toys for Story-Art at the C. Burr Artz Public Library! Children ages 3-5 years old will enjoy listening to the picture book I'm the Biggest Thing in the Ocean by Kevin Sherry and decorating silly, wiggly jellyfish to take home.

Hero Meetup: South Mountain Creamery

Farmers are local heroes who produce food and fiber everyday! Come out to South Mountain Creamery and meet the Maryland Dairy Princess, who is a farmer from Carroll County. She will share about life on the farm, read books and play a farming game. Families can then stay and enjoy South Mountain Creamery’s free activities, including feeding calves at 4 p.m. and watching the cows be milked in the parlor. A visit to the farm store can top off your day.

**Please park in the large parking lot across the street from the store and meet in the large hay barn at 3:30 p.m.
