My First Book Club

Join us every month as we read and explore our favorite picture books through crafts, songs, and activities! You are welcome to read the selection to your child before our book club meets, but it is not required. Ages 3-5.

Wee Little Firefighter Academy

Get ready to have some serious fun about fire safety! Listen to an action packed story about a firefighter and then enjoy a visit from REAL firefighters from the Urbana Volunteer Fire and Rescue Department who will demonstrate their equipment and talk about fighting fires! Participants will end their heroic training exploring a fire engine. Ages 2-6.

First Friday Fun Fest at Westview Promenade

Frederick County Public Libraries teams up with Westview Promenade for Free, Fantastic Fun every First Friday. Just drop by for a variety of story time, music, games, and crafts. Each month features a special theme and unique activities. Best for ages 2-6 with an adult.

Held in the Courtyard in front of Regal Cinemas with an inclement weather backup location announced the morning of the event on the Westview Promenade Facebook Page.

Animal Heroes Meetup: Sheriff K-9 Officer Demonstration

Meet up with a law enforcement officer who fights crime one bite at a time – a Frederick County Sherriff’s Office K-9 Officer. We will meet at the Middletown Park, near the pavilion by the pond, at 1:30 p.m. Demonstration will take place in the grassy area behind the pavilion.

Right On Recycling!

Right On Recycling! – This family program is full of fascinating facts about the complete cycle of recycling. Learn what happens after your materials are picked up at the curb, see what they get made into and find out why everything can’t be recycled. Bring items from home to have your recycling questions answered by Annmarie Creamer from the Frederick County Department of Solid Waste Management. (Registration required.)
