Through the Lens: Framing a Sense of Home Orientation

Calling all photographers!In partnership with the One Maryland One Book, The Distance Between Us, the Through the Lens project asks participants to frame their home and community through a camera lens. At this orientation, participants will receive a disposable camera and a journal for recording details of the pictures, and a short workshop on photography basics will be held. Cameras and journals must be returned by October 8th for developing. Space is limited; reservations must be made.

OMOB: Teen Genealogy Project

As part of One Maryland One Book we will be running a series of family history projects this Autumn. For teens this means an in-depth plunge into their ancestry and origins. We are encouraging teens to bring along their grandparents or other knowledgeable family members for this event to help us get started!

Join us for the culmination of the Through the Lens: Framing a Sense of Hope project held in conjunction with the One Maryland One Book, The Distance Between Us. This evenings event will feature a gallery display of photographs from the project depicting the participants sense of their community, and the hidden, unusual and undiscovered sights within it - through a lens.
