Babies With Books: Birth to Twenty-Four Months

Thursday, January 22, 2015 - 2:30pm to 3:00pm
Learning to read begins BEFORE your child starts school - as a matter of fact, it begins at birth! Delight and stimulate your baby with songs, a story and activities. Get to know other families an help your baby develop listening and language skills. Tickets will be available on the day of the program for the first 15 parent/child pairs. This program is limited, so come early for your ticket.

A Soup Opera: Act it Out!

Thursday, January 22, 2015 - 4:15pm to 5:00pm
Age Group: 
Ages 7-10. Join us as we read and explore Jim Gill's A Soup Opera. Participants will read and discuss the book over three weeks. The series will end with a dramatic performance of the story. Families and friends are invited to attend the performance! Snow date: January 29th.

Starlight Family Storytime

Bring the whole family for an evening of storytime fun. We’ll read, move, and rhyme with a different theme each week. Nurture a love of reading through books, music, activities, and Science, Technology, Engineering & Math (STEM) elements. Almost bedtime? Feel free to wear your pajamas.

Transition to Twos

Is your curious toddler transitioning from baby to child? Transition to Twos nurtures this exciting time in your child’s development through books, movement, music and rhymes. We’ll begin learning to play with others, wait turns, and listen to stories, as well as dance, sing, laugh and have fun! This storytime is designed specifically for caregivers and children 18 months to 30 months. Registration is available two weeks before the monthly program series begins.

Frederick County Infants & Toddlers Program Playgroup (ages birth-36 mos)

R.E.A.D. to a Dog Extravaganza!

Wags For Hope is here for an extra special program! We'll have lots of dogs (and maybe even Toona the Cat!), crafts and games. Learn all about how these dogs help you improve your reading while you're making a new animal friend. All reading levels welcome.

WAGS for Hope comes to the Thurmont Library on the 4th Saturday of every month at 11am.

Poketown Gym! – A Pokemon Trading Card League for all ages!

The Poketown Gym, an official Pokemon League, provides a place for you to get together with other fans of Pokemon to have some fun. Use your own cards to make decks and play with others. You can also bring your Pokemon Video Games for exciting head-to-head battles. You can play, trade, and earn cool prizes like special promotional cards and booster packs, all for free!
