R.E.A.D. ® with Wags for Hope

Improve your reading skills and make a new friend by reading aloud to a specially trained "listening" animal! The Reading Education Assistance Dogs (R.E.A.D.) program works to improve children's reading and communication skills by providing registered therapy animals who volunteer with their owner/handler (as a team)to meet with and listen to children read.
*Allergy Alert! The dogs and cats are live animals.*

First Friday Fun Fest at Westview Promenade

Frederick County Public Libraries teams up with Westview Promenade for Free, Fantastic Fun every First Friday. Just drop by for a variety of story time, music, games, and crafts. Each month features a special theme and unique activities. Best for ages 2-6 with an adult.

Held in the former Coldwater Creek storefront near MOM's Market. Visit the Westview Promenade Facebook Page for any location changes the morning of the event.

Transition to Twos

Is your curious toddler transitioning from baby to child? Transition to Twos nurtures this exciting time in your child’s development through books, movement, music and rhymes. We’ll begin learning to play with others, wait turns, and listen to stories, as well as dance, sing, laugh and have fun! This storytime is designed specifically for caregivers and children 18 months to 30 months. Registration is available two weeks before the monthly program series begins.

Bouncing Babies Story & Playtime

Learning to read begins BEFORE your child starts school - as a matter of fact, it begins at birth! Delight and stimulate your baby with songs, a story, and activities. Stay after storytime for independent playtime during which you and your child can socialize with other parents, caregivers, and children. The library will provide the space and a variety of educational toys to explore and share. Ages 0-3

Little Makers - Snap Circuits

Little Makers invites families with young children to tinker, design and create together. We will be exposed to STEM concepts, explore new materials and tools, and encourage the creative process as we make a project to take home. Sometimes creativity can get messy, so dress your little maker (and yourself) in old clothing that can be splattered with things like paint, ink and glue. FOR AGES 4-6

Preschool Storytime
