GSK Science in the Summer™: Chemistry Level II

GSK Science in the Summer™ will introduce students to Chemistry through interesting investigations that will allow them to explore physical and chemical changes, learn about "matter," make crystals, and determine if liquids are acids, bases, or neutrals. The four-hour program is held over two days. This is a free and fun experiment-oriented course taught by certified teachers to 15 students entering fourth through sixth grades.

Right On Recycling!

Right On Recycling! – This family program is full of fascinating facts about the complete cycle of recycling. Learn what happens after your materials are picked up at the curb, see what they get made into and find out why everything can’t be recycled. Bring items from home to have your recycling questions answered by Annmarie Creamer from the Frederick County Department of Solid Waste Management. (Registration required.)

Take the Robotic Challenge!

Monday, July 6, 2015 - 4:00pm to 5:00pm
Take the Lego Robotic Challenge - Lego NXT robots feature a friendly code that tweens can understand. Join members of the RoboRangers 4-H Club as they work in small groups with participants to program a robot to run a specific mission. This is a STEM program geared toward children in 4th and 5th grades. Registration required.

3,2,1 SUGO!

3, 2, 1, SUGO! - Learn how to customize Lego NXT robots and challenge other builders in a SUGO match with members of the RoboRangers 4-H Club. What is SUGO? SUmo wrestling for LeGO robots. This is a STEM program geared to grades K-3. Registration required.
