Learn to Play Magic The Gathering with Comics to Astonish!

Join the experts from Comics to Astonish in Mt Airy to learn to play Magic the Gathering. In this three-program series, participants can practice playing on July 1 and 22 (if you have cards, feel free to bring them but they're not required to participate). On July 29, everyone can enjoy a Magic the Gathering tournament (your own cards required). This is a program for middle and high school aged students.

Frederick County Infants and Toddlers

A fun and educational summer group for families who are on our extended IFSP. In order to better address our statewide goal of seeing children with their peers in the community and working on preschool readiness skills for 3 year olds, Infants and Toddlers is collaborating with the Brunswick Library this summer. We are really excited to provide a 10 week group opportunity that is exclusive for children on our extended IFSP.

Teddy Bear Picnic

Little Gym: Serious Fun

GirlPower Book Club

June: Doll Bones by Holly Black and The Fourteenth Goldfish by Jennifer Holm; July: Waiting for the Magic by Patricia MacLachlan and Escape From Mr. Lemoncello's Library by Chris Grabenstein; and in August, Miss Deb will be hosting a SRC Bingo! based on the FCPL's SRC Reading List. Battlefield Medicine: Trauma Care in the Civil War

Civil War soldiers suffered devastating casualties. Have you ever wondered who took care of them? This program explains and demonstrates medical practices of the time. Learn about Civil War ammunition and the types of wounds it cause. A costumed interpreter will also talk about casualties, how they were evacuated from their location and where they were treated. Also, learn about Dr. Jonathan Letterman and his revolutionary system of evacuation. Presented by the National Museum of Civil War Medicine, this is the final session in a three-part series. Best for ages 5+
