Friends of the Emmitsburg Branch Library Meeting

Friends of the Library are people who care and are interested in increasing awareness of the library in the community. Friends of the Library support the library by holding fundraising events such as Summer Book Sale and sponsor and staff special library events such as Februrary's 'LOVE YOUR LIBRARY. Membership is free and open to anyone interested in helping to enhance library services in the community. To learn how to become a Friend of the Library, contact Library Manager Erin Dingle at 301-600-7201. Current planned meetings are the last Tuesday of January, March and May.

Preschool Storytime

Homeschool Literature Group - Classic

Elementary school students join us for a World Literature discussion series of classic and award winning books. Read, Discuss and Explore! Contact WA branch for more information and to enroll. All books will be available free through the library. Grades 2-4.

Symphony Storytime with Frederick Symphony Orchestra

Wednesday, April 1, 2015 - 3:00pm to 3:30pm
Children and their parents experience a live musical collaboration between the library reader and a Frederick Symphony Orchestra musician during this 30 minute storytime! The musician will play short selections, talk a little about their instrument, answer questions, and, after the stories are read aloud, audience members can take a closer peek at the instrument! This program is best appreciated by children ages 2-6 and their caregivers, but is open to all ages.

Camp NaNoWriMo: Young Writers Program

A spinoff of National Novel Writing Month, Camp NaNoWriMo invites young writers to take part in a month-long writing journey. A more open-ended version of our original November event, teens can set any word-count goal and work on any writing project. Join us on this creative, monthlong venture! Registration is recommended.

MinecraftEDU Meetup

Explore the world of MinecraftEDU during our bi-weekly Minecraft program. Bring Your Own Device for drop-in free play. *The library will provide several laptops for participants to use. Please feel free to bring your own device that you already play Minecraft on! Ages 6-12.
