Battlefield Medicine: Trauma Care in the Civil War

Civil War soldiers suffered devastating casualties. Have you ever wondered who took care of them? This program explains and demonstrates medical practices of the time. Learn about Civil War ammunition and the types of wounds it cause. A costumed interpreter will also talk about casualties, how they were evacuated from their location and where they were treated. Also, learn about Dr. Jonathan Letterman and his revolutionary system of evacuation. Presented by the National Museum of Civil War Medicine, this is the final session in a three-part series. Soolah Hoops

Come join Soolah as she shares the joys of hula hooping. Kids will be entertained with a demonstration of hula hooping tricks with different kinds of hula hoops. Soolah will share her hoops, teaching kids how to hoop, how to do some tricks and play some games! Hoops will be provided. Please be sure your child is in comfortable clothing and has a water bottle to stay hydrated. Best for ages K-8

Want to design your own mobile app for Android? Learn how in this four-part program! Using the MIT App Inventor website, you'll learn all the steps in creating an Android app that you can then share with your friends and family.

Registration is required and extremely limited for this program series. Must be thirteen and up, in order to register for the App Inventor website. Homework may be assigned and participants must be able to attend all four programs. Refreshments will be served.
