GSK Science in the Summer™: Chemistry Level II

GSK Science in the Summer™ will introduce students to Chemistry through interesting investigations that will allow them to explore physical and chemical changes, learn about "matter," make crystals, and determine if liquids are acids, bases, or neutrals. The four-hour program is held over two days. This is a free and fun experiment-oriented course taught by certified teachers to 15 students entering fourth through sixth grades.

Little Gym: Serious Fun

Little Gym of Frederick will guide your child through a movement based class, incorporating directive music, yoga poses, gymnastics stretches, and the use of small equipment such as rhythm sticks and hula hoops. Get ready to move! For ages 3-8. Registration required.

Right On Recycling!

Right On Recycling! – This family program is full of fascinating facts about the complete cycle of recycling. Learn what happens after your materials are picked up at the curb, see what they get made into and find out why everything can’t be recycled. Bring items from home to have your recycling questions answered by Annmarie Creamer from the Frederick County Department of Solid Waste Management. (Registration required.)

Become a Sports Hero at Tuscarora Tennis Barn!

Learn a new sport as part of your story! The Tuscarora Tennis Barn is offering a free group tennis lesson for library patrons. Learn from Tennis Heroes at Tuscarora's all-weather facility!
Non-marking court shoes and comfortable sports clothing should be worn to this event. Registration Required.

Urbana Library's 2nd Annual Slingshot Challenge
