Science at Sundown - Search and Rescue Dogs

Meet a real HERO, a Rescue Dog. This member of Search and Rescue Teams has the important job of finding you if you become lost in the wild. Hear his story and what to do if you get lost. For ages 6-11 with an adult.

B.A.T.S. at the Library

The library is excited to be part of the University of Maryland’s Bat Acoustic Traveling Study research to determine bat activity and species in urban, suburban, and rural areas. PhD and undergraduate students will share information about all the good things bats do in our community and demonstrate how the bat detector box (with a microphone 20 feet up in the air!!) records high frequency bat calls. Live acoustic demonstrations and audience participation (weather permitting)!

Want to freshen up your toy selection at home? Come to TotSwap and exchange gently-used items with other caregivers. Items encouraged for swap include, toys, indoor/outdoor play equipment, books, and DVD's.

Bring up to 15 items to swap.

Please register and put in notes how many items you will be bringing so we can plan according for space.
