R.E.A.D. ® with Wags for Hope

Improve your reading skills and make a new friend by reading aloud to a specially trained "listening" animal! The Reading Education Assistance Dogs (R.E.A.D.) program works to improve children's reading and communication skills by providing registered therapy animals who volunteer with their owner/handler (as a team)to meet with and listen to children read.

*Allergy Alert! The dogs and cats are live animals.*

WAGS for Hope comes to the Thurmont Library on the 4th Saturday of every month at 11am.

Learn engineering principles of catapults and castle-storming, Bat-signal tower building tricks, Duplo Letter recognition and even some Super Amusement park rides and Robotics! We will have several tables with hands-on building time and play time too! Shhhhh, Don’t Tell Them it’s educational!

Furry Tales with Pet Vet Dr. Little of the Village Vet of Urbana

Storytime has gone to the dogs! Kids will learn what veterinarians do, listen to a tail-wagging story, see some of the instruments doctors use on animals and even enjoy a visit from a special furry friend! For all ages.
