: Park Rangers from Cunningham Falls State Park bring this special program out of the park and into the library! Get excited about nature and the outdoors in these special sessions for children ages 3-5 with a caregiver. Register for one or all of the 4 sessions throughout the county and explore the world around you.

Introduction to Maryland State Parks Junior Rangers for 6-10 year olds

Park Rangers from Cunningham Falls State park bring this special program out of the park and into the library! Learn firsthand about what it takes to be a Junior Ranger and how to earn your patch by attending library and park programs. Your first step begins here! Participants in this session will receive priority registration for sessions 2, 3, and 4 at either C. Burr Artz Library or Thurmont Library. Can’t make it to the library sessions?

Kid Art Studio

Thursday, March 5, 2015 - 2:00pm to 3:00pm
Be an artist at your library. In 6 weekly sessions, learn about famous artworks and then create your own. This program is for homeschooled children, but is open to all children. Recommended for children ages 6-12. Registration is required.Register for all 6 weeks of the series.

Think with BINK: A Fort Detrick Alliance STEM Program for Kids (Grades 1-5)

A visiting scientist, technician, engineer or mathematician from the Fort Detrick Alliance will teach us all about STEM each month!

March theme: Math Is Popping Up
Explore some very interesting 3D objects called Platonic solids, and then build some yourself! Learn about their structure, mathematical properties, and where they occur in nature. Finally, find out whether soap bubbles are always round.

For students in grade 1-5. Registration required.

Hero Stories: Meet a Park Naturalist & Animals

Get up close and personal animals from Catoctin Creek and learn about being a Park Naturalist. Every Hero has a Story, and your local Park Naturalist has plenty to share about plants and animals at Catoctin Creek.
