Improve your reading skills and make a new friend by reading aloud to a therapy dog! The PAWS to Read program improves children's reading and communication skills by employing a powerful method: reading to a dog. But not just any dog. PAWS to Read dogs are registered therapy animals who volunteer with their owner/handlers as a team, going to schools, libraries and many other settings as reading companions for children.

LEGO Challenge Days! Build a Local Landmark

You bring your ideas, we provide the LEGOs! We provide a challenge, and you get to test your engineering skills! Are you up to it?
May 17th - What's you're favorite place to visit in Frederick? The movie theater? Baker Park? Monacacy Battlefield? Catoctin Zoo? Or something a little farther away...The White House? Inner Harbor? Create your favorite local landmark with LEGO!!

Petite Playgroup at the Library!

Enjoy an hour of independent play during which you and your child can socialize with other parents, caregivers and children! Each playgroup will start with 15 minutes of stories, rhymes and songs led by your friendly children's librarian. The library will provide the space and a variety of educational toys to explore and share! For ages 0-3.
