Futuremakers: Glowing finger beams

Thursday, July 16, 2015 - 2:00pm to 3:00pm
Invent and wear illuminated finger beam makers! Use LED’s, batteries and conductive materials to construct glowing devices - and take slow speed photos of your hands in action! Ages 6 and up. Under 8 must be with an adult. Space is limited, register online or contact your library today.

Soolah Hoops

Thursday, July 23, 2015 - 2:00pm to 2:45pm
Come join Soolah as she shares the joys of hula hooping. Kids will be entertained with a demonstration of hula hooping tricks with different kinds of hula hoops. Soolah will share her hoops, teaching kids how to hoop, how to do some tricks and play some games! Hoops will be provided. Please be sure your child is in comfortable clothing and has a water bottle to stay hydrated. Best for ages K-8

Storytelling Through Music

Presented by the Maryland Wind Ensemble, this program invites children to imagine and discover stories being brought to life through music. This program is best appreciated by children ages 5-12 and their caregivers, but is open to all ages.

Art Zone: Heroes in Art

Friday, August 7, 2015 - 4:00pm to 4:30pm
Every artist has a story. In this class we will explore several artists’ stories and discover how they have become important heroes in their communities. Participants will then create their own piece of art inspired from these artists. All tools and materials will be provided. No previous drawing experience is necessary.

Art Zone: Design Your Own Superhero

Friday, June 5, 2015 - 4:00pm to 4:30pm
Every superhero has a story. In this beginning drawing class each participant will use their creativity to design their very own superhero. Participants will choose from several different designs and drawing techniques to create their superhero. All tools and materials will be provided. No previous drawing experience is necessary.
