Behind every computer game or app there is someone who wrote the code that made it all work. Join us for an hour of very beginning computer programming concepts and games and team up with others to test your skills in the language of computers. No previous coding skills needed. Ages 8-12.

Maryland State Parks Park Pals for 3-5 year olds

Become a Junior Park Ranger through Park Pals a special program designed to encourage little ones to become comfortable and excited about our natural and historical surroundings. Join a Cunningham Falls State Park Ranger for a hands-on mini adventure. Get excited about nature and the outdoors in this special session for children ages 3-5 with a caregiver.

Symphony Storytime with Frederick Symphony Orchestra

Wednesday, April 1, 2015 - 3:00pm to 3:30pm
Children and their parents experience a live musical collaboration between the library reader and a Frederick Symphony Orchestra musician during this 30 minute storytime! The musician will play short selections, talk a little about their instrument, answer questions, and, after the stories are read aloud, audience members can take a closer peek at the instrument! This program is best appreciated by children ages 2-6 and their caregivers, but is open to all ages.

Hero Stories: Meet a Park Naturalist & Animals

Get up close and personal with animals from Fountain Rock Nature Center and learn about being a Park Naturalist. Every Hero has a Story, and your local Park Naturalist has plenty to share about plants and animals at Fountain Rock. Children under 16 must be accompanied by an adult as requested by Fountain Rock.

Think With BINK: A Fort Detrick Alliance STEM Program for Kids

How are common construction materials are used and tested? How does concrete work? How does it compare with wood or steel? Explore engineering materials and learn the answers in this hands-on session with engineer Tom Taylor!
