Join us from March 9th to March 15th to celebrate Teen Tech Week. This year’s theme is DIY @ Your Library and we have a variety of programs to help you get crafty, play with technology, and learn more about the free resources you can access with your library card.

Our first Teen Tech Week program takes place on Tuesday, March 11th, at 3:00pm at the Middletown Library. Kyle from GameStop will be visiting the Middletown Library. Teens can play new video games, learn more about upcoming releases, and maybe even master some new gaming tricks and tips. Registration for this event is not required so come out and join us on Tuesday, March 11th at 3:00pm.

Our second Teen Tech Week program takes place on Wednesday, March 12th, at 4:00pm at the C. Burr Artz Library in downtown Frederick. Combining crafts, technology, and a little DIY, teens will be able to turn cell phone chargers into bracelets. Bring your cell phone charger or a spare cell phone charger with you. Your cell phone charger will still be useable after you make a fashionable bracelet with it. Registration for this program is required. Please let us know if you’ll be joining us to make a Cell Phone Charger Bracelet by registering online.

If you can’t make it on Wednesday, teens will have another opportunity to make a Cell Phone Charger Bracelet on Thursday, March 13th, at 3:15pm at the Walkersville Library. Registration for this event is not required so stop by afterschool to learn how to transform your cell phone charger into a fashion accessory.

While Teen Tech Week officially ends on March 15th, we’ll continue to have technology related programs for teens throughout the spring. The Middletown Library will be hosting a Teen Tech Talk afterschool on Tuesday, May 13th at 2:30pm. Learn about the vocabulary used to describe technology, how we talk about technology online, and what all those weird abbreviations really mean.

We’d love to have you join us as we celebrate Teen Tech Week. Come DIY @ Your Library, learn something new, and transform something ordinary into something extraordinary.
