Wear your green and celebrate St. Patrick’s Day with the Celtic tunes of Lúnasa! You don’t have to be Irish to join us for this fun, authentic Celtic music experience.
The world-renowned Irish instrumental band, Lúnasa, will perform at the 2014 Celtic Concert on Monday, March 17th, at 7:00pm at the Marion Burk Knott Auditorium at Mount St. Mary’s University in Emmitsburg, MD.
Since the release of their debut self-titled album in 1997, Lúnasa has become one of the most sought-after bands on the international Celtic music scene. The quintet’s creative arrangements and bass-driven tunes have introduced Irish acoustic music to audiences of all ages around the world. Constantly pushing musical boundaries, Lúnasa’s sound is unmistakably Irish, while touching on jazz and other spontaneous music styles.
The Celtic Concert is a free event, underwritten by the C. Burr Artz Trust and Plamondon Hospitality Partners and presented annually by the Emmitsburg and Thurmont libraries. Tickets are required. Free advance tickets can be picked up (limit four per person—while supplies last) at the Emmitsburg or Thurmont Libraries beginning March 1.
