Open enrollment begins on Tuesday, October 1st, for individuals and families through Maryland’s new health insurance marketplace, Maryland Health Connection. Additional resources and links can be found on our new Healthcare Reform in Maryland Resource Guide.

Library staff are available to help direct you to online resources regarding healthcare reform in Maryland, however, library staff are unable to provide advice or recommendations regarding healthcare plans. Those requiring assistance selecting a plan may wish to visit Maryland Health Connection’s Consumer Assistance page or call the Maryland Health Connection toll-free number at 1(855)642-8572. The Door to Healthcare for Western Maryland also offers assistance to enroll in a new healthcare plan and can be reached at 1(855)288-3667.

For those looking to enroll online, all FCPL branches offer computers for patrons to use, as well as free wi-fi for those bringing their own laptops and mobile devices. Please note that a library card is required to sign on to the public computers at FCPL’s branches. A library card is not required to log on to the public wi-fi, however, printing is not available from devices connected via wi-fi. The number of computers available, time limits on public computers, and wi-fi signal and strength may vary from branch to branch.
